Merloquet Falls is a popular tourist attraction for both local and foreign tourists. It suits best for a day trip from Zamboanga City, situated 2 hours away from the city proper itself.
The travel heading to Merloquet is accessible, but you have to jump from one vehicle to another just to arrive there. The jump off point heading to the falls itself takes about 15 minutes and consists of almost 400 steps. The actual falls is composed of 2 major parts, a main tier and the 2nd tier.
The main tier of Merloquet is a grandiose falls of cascading water on top of a staircase-like rock formation. The waterfall is curtained by the gentle cascade of water, making it an eye-candy for some photographers who visit the area. Some tourists even climb the falls and have water cascade on their backs to get hydro massage!
